Project Type: Conceptual Experience Architecture · Cultural Platform Model

Role: Creative Strategist (Freelance Consultant)

The Ask

Reposition Prada within the U.S. cultural landscape by reclaiming intellectual and avant-garde authority amid rising competitors.

The Idea

Design a scalable cultural platform that positioned Prada at the intersection of avant-garde surrealism and institutional authority, using a salon format as a prototype for recurring, high-intimacy brand experiences. The Surreal Salon was conceived as a one-night-only activation at MoMA PS1, an intimate yet theatrical evening for 75 VIPs, editors, and tastemakers. The event was designed as both spectacle and salon, inviting guests to step into Prada’s surrealist imagination.

Experience Architecture

  • Cultural Signal: Luxury fatigue and rising appetite for intellectual disruption
  • Narrative Territory: Prada as avant-garde cultural authority
  • Format Model: Intimate salon prototype adaptable across global art institutions
  • Spatial Logic: Alternating spectacle (tableaux) and reflection (salon dialogue)
  • Extension Layer: Digital AR archive and social amplification extending beyond the physical event

The Solution

  • Spatial Dramatury: Living couture installations translating surrealist ideology into physical narrative moments.
  • Archive Reframing System: Projection-mapped corridor repositioning Prada’s heritage within future-facing cultural discourse.
  • Engagement Layer: AR try-ons and limited artifacts extending brand immersion into participatory ritual.
  • Audience Architecture: Strategically curated guest ecosystem amplifying cultural credibility and network diffusion.

The Impact

  • Generated high-authority cultural coverage (Vogue, W) reinforcing Prada’s intellectual repositioning
  • Extended reach through social virality and participatory digital layers
  • Established a replicable salon model capable of scaling across global art institutions

This project explored how cultural activation can function as a repeatable experience platform rather than a one-off event.
